Functional Forum: New Education Opportunities in Metro-NYC

Functional-Forum-profileWith the launch of the Functional Forum series this Spring, holistically-minded clinicians in the New York City area will have a new opportunity to meet, mingle and learn.

The Functional Forum is a monthly meet-up founded by James Maskell and Revive Primary Care, and focused on translating the innovations in the field of functional medicine into practical strategies that can improve the health and wellbeing of communities across metro-NYC.

Beginning on February 5, and continuing on the first Wednesday of every month, the Forum will feature leaders in the field of functional, holistic and naturopathic medicine discussing clinical advances, new healthcare technology, and practice development skill-building in a relaxed and encouraging atmosphere. The Forum sessions will be held at the Helen Mills Theater at 139 West 26th Street in Manhattan.

“This comes at an exciting time for functional and integrative medicine, not only clinically, but also in the innovative business models being developed around the country. With health politics raising more questions than answers and with technology changing the healthcare landscape for good, there has never been a more ripe time for health innovation,” Mr. Maskell says.

Developed with sponsorship support from Energetix, Designs for Health, n1 Health, and Sakara Life, the Functional Forum is open to all healthcare professionals. One of the main objectives of the meetings is to help like-minded practitioners connect with one another.

The February 5th Forum will feature Donielle Wilson, ND, an NYC-based naturopathic physician who has recently become the practitioner of choice for a number of high-profile Fortune 500 CEOs, including Mark Bertolini, the head of Aetna. Following his own personal experience with naturopathy, Mr. Bertolini has become one of the nation’s leading corporate advocates for holistic approaches. In her talk, “Treating the Big Boys,” Dr. Wilson will reflect on the unique opportunities now opening up as influential and powerful individuals discover the potential of natural medicine.

Mr. Maskell, a practice development consultant and one of the most popular speakers at HPC’s last three Heal Thy Practice conferences, says he hopesrpclogocmyk these new monthly meet-ups will “push medicine forward toward a more holistic, sustainable model. We’re proud to be doing it in the world’s most innovative city.”

Holistic Primary Care is excited to partner with James and his team at Revive to bring this new series to life. Register for the Functional Forum here!
