Controversy over the presence of genetically modified (GM) ingredients in our food supply continues to rage, as legislators confront an increasingly active public demanding GMO food labelling laws. Though many food activists contend that GM plant and animal ingredients present significant human health challenges, the medical community has been largely silent on this issue.
On Saturday, June 9th, health care professionals, environmental scientists and food safety leaders
will gather in Broomfield, CO for the inaugural 'Seeds of Doubt" conference, exploring the health impact of GMO foods. The conference, sponsored by the Colorado Functional Medicine Forum, will feature clinical presentations from functional medicine pioneer Robert Rountree, MD and plant pathologist Don Huber, PhD. Also featured are Francis Moore Lappe, renowned author of "Diet for a Small Planet," and Jeff Smith, author of "Seeds of Deception."
The meeting is dedicated to the memory of nutrition educator, Robert Crayhon, founder of the popular Boulderfest nutrition conferences, who passed away nearly 2 years ago
